Thomas HewittDance merges technique, dramatic ability, emotion and music. In producing moving renditions of the familiar favorites from traditional ballet as well as adding contemporary works, we can both broaden interest in ballet and continue its advancement in this century. Thomas was director of the children's dance division and showed a talent for administration and direction with the same integrity, creative imagination and responsibility that was obvious in all duties that he pursued. He has a most giving personality and creates an atmosphere in working of a serious, unstrained professional teacher/choreographer/Artistic Director.

Tom Hewitt is a talented and musically astute artist who would be a genuine asset to the faculty of any ballet school and/or dance company. In my past association with Tom at The Redwood Empire Ballet School in California; I was deeply impressed with Tom's excellent and creative instruction in his ballet classes. His sensitive coaching of the students in his classes, as well as his coaching of the professional dancers in the company, was outstanding. I was especially moved and impressed with his innate musical gifts both as a composer and a fine pianist. This is a rare combination of gifts. Tom has developed a superb and easy manner of sharing his gifts with dance students of all ages and levels of accomplishment. In addition to these wonderful skills, Tom is also a gifted choreographer who has often co-authored the music for his own ballets as well as other musical compositions, working with renown composer, Merton Brown. Tom is able to choreograph in many styles, and most importantly, in a way that demonstrates a great sensitivity to the abilities and special qualities of his dancers. All of the ballet students that I sent to work with Tom Hewitt were enriched in ways that they will carry with them for a lifetime.
